the Bay: An EIS is necessary for the proposed works on the former Union Carbide site at Rhodes and the strip of dioxin contaminated sediments in Homebush Bay because the site is State Significant Development. NB. The Scope of works contemplated by the EIS does not include very large areas of the bay contaminated by metals, DDT and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
