RE: EIS FOR REMEDIATION OF ALLIED FEEDS SITE

ERM has recently been appointed to work with Earth Tech on the Environmental Impact Statement for the remediation for the Allied Feeds site on Rhodes Peninsula.

We are keen to consult with the community, and have been briefed on the work undertaken by PPK and Thiess in relation to the adjoining Lednez site. As part of our consultation approach we would like to meet with the existing Community Liaison Group (CLG) because it is representative, knowledgeable on the issues, and because of the close connection between the projects.

In view of this I have spoken to John Kent, the independent chairman, and would like to schedule an introductory meeting for:
Thursday 13 December
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Rhodes Community Centre
Old School 
Blaxland Road
Rhodes

I recognise this is very short notice, but we are very keen to hold an initial meeting before Christmas and understand that Thiess/PPK have vacated that date. We would anticipate the meeting would be less than 2 hours and would cover the following:
- CLG Terms of Reference and protocols
- introduction of team and project
- approach to consultation
- key community issues
- dates and topics for future meetings

We anticipate that in meeting on our project the CLG would have a Terms of Reference very similar to those agreed with Thiess/PPK and we will issue a draft at the meeting. Consequently guests are welcome to attend the initial meeting but we would request notification by Tuesday 11 December.

Once again I apologise both for the late notice and for the fact that you will have meetings on consecutive nights. However a meeting now will allow us to plan ahead and schedule future meetings after the holiday period.
